Star lost this Logan Cup 3rd round tie and can blame a poor first half in which they failed to cash in on the conditions, going in 2-0 down at half time - which, incidentally was cut short by 8 minutes by the ref for some reason which he was unable to explain.
A mini revival ensured the Star won the second half again, but probably deserved to lose on balance as too many players didn't excell.
Now it's back to league business this Saturday with a home match against Lochend who beat Star 5-4 in the first game of the season, with Star losing a 3 goal lead in the process.
Since the club won 5 games in a row, culminating at Gourock, the form book shows: LWLWL, and it's now we have to show the same superb form and go on the same kind of run if we want to climb the league and be involved in the final stages of the Challenge Cup and the League Cup (if it's staged).

Star up to the Challenge

Challenge Cup, 1st round

Star saw off Loanhead without much fuss as they mastered the conditions better - taking a 3 goal lead into half time which was added to in the second half, although Loanhead did score during their most dangerous period after half time.
Training as usual Wednesday 14th, Riccarton.
Watch this space as Chairman Peter has intimated the need for a committee meeting.
